“Sawasdee Kub” (Hello in Thai)

I’m known in Australia as Jimmie.

I was born on 2nd May 1987, in the the province in the south of Thailand called Surat-Thani.

Back in Thailand, people know me as Natthawut or Jom. My surname is ‘Thongkul’ means ‘abundant with gold’ where my real name ‘Natthawut’ means ‘an active wise man’. And my short name ‘Jom’ means ‘the best of all’ It’s Thai custom to name a child with meaning.

The reason why I pick the name Jimmie is because my grandpa used to have an English friend named Arther. At that time i was a kid running around in my grand parent’s house. Arthur named me Jimmy as it sounds similar to Jom. Now Arthur passed away – so i continue to use this name until today as a rememberance of him. Indeed, Nathan is the name that i really want to use as it sounds nice and similar to my real name which is Natthawut but it’s too late to change it now.

You may wonder why my name spells ‘Jimmie’ insted of ‘Jimmy’? I changed the spelling of my name because this is an eternal covenant which I made between me and the Lord that no matter what happens on my Christian journey and whatever it takes I will not run away from God again.

What else about me? ….

I call myself a Christian. I believe in Jesus. I believe that Jesus is a son of God whom God sent into this world to save all man kind from their sins by being nailed to the cross!

I love Jesus. He is my role model. I’m passionated for His commandment which called The Great Commission. The Great Commission states to all Christians to go and make disciples of all nations, to baptise them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Also to teach them to obey all things that Jesus commanded! And I am here to help to fulfill The Great Commission!

I love spending quality time with people. My favourite quote is “Whatever it takes .. I will serve“. The worship song that I love is ‘One Desire’. I love singing and any kind of performances. I like to stay at home. I love to encourage people when they are down. I love making people laugh. I treasure genuine frienship – friend is a great gift from God for me. Where I can truly me myself is the quite time of worship.  

In my free time I love looking at the photos! Photos are great! They keep all the memories, they keep all emotions, and they are always there. All photos, I keep them in the big box. They mean so much to me.  

I love to be taken photo.I usually step into wherever the camera is I love reading encouragements from people and I love keeping them. I keep every single encouragement that have been given to me even the smallest one. If I have my own house, I will make an encouragement room where I will stick up all cards, photos and all kind of encouragement on wall. I think that room will be the place that I will spend most of my time.
