Man’s approval

Human being often judges others according to their appearance and performance – by what they have achieved, what they have gained and how they look. In the past, I would go extra miles to do things to please man. They don’t have to mention anything about my performance or my appearance; I am happy by just being noticed by someone. But it is a bonus if they also give me a positive comment on what I do and/or how I look.

I admit here that it was uncomfortable living a life that always pleases man. Man can fail us anytime. They failed me and it took me a while to pick myself up. It was a great lesson for me though because I am now convicted that whether people see my performance or not, God sees! I am running after God’s approval alone!

I hope that we can be authentic in all things that we do. We don’t have to pretend to be someone or try so hard do something in order just to please man. Whether we are in a public or in our own bedroom – we can be ourselves.

Don’t please man. Please God.

See the world & see youself as God sees

God is alwauy looking for people to use. Throughout the Bible, starting from our father Abraham to Paul the Apostle, God has always been searching for people that He can really use. In fact, the most dangerous prayer we all can say is “God, use me, here I am!” It’s dangerous because when you ask God to use you, He will get right on with you and begin to break you,  break you and break you and He will mold you, mold you and mold you to be His perfect servant that He can really use.

I believe there are 2 criterias when God choose people to use: 1.) God uses those who see the world as God sees it 2.) God uses those who see themselves the way God sees them.

God used Moses to delivered His people out of Egypt because his heart aligned with God’s. Moses saw the world the way God sees. When Moses was a prince, he couldn’t standing see his own people being beated by the Egyptian slave drives until to the point where he killed the slave driver. God also cannot stand seeing His own people being tortured too. Then, God skimmed His eyes throughout Egypt, He found Moses – the one who is having the same discontentment as Him – He was like

“AHA!!! I will use him for his heart is aligned with mine”

Moses’s Discontentment (Ex 2:11-14) and God’s Discontentment (Ex 3:7-10) are perfectly aligned

However, Moses didn’t see himself the way God sees Him at the beginning. He rejected God’s calling many times until God was vey angry at Him. He was a reluctant servant. But I apprecaite Moses’ honestly and authenticity that he expressed towards God. He frankly told God that he cannot do it, he cannot speak well. But Hooray! Eventually, Moses took up the calling and begun to see himself the way God sees him. Look at where he is today – He is a man who we all talk about. God even credited him to be the most humble man on earth (Numbers 12:3).

Friends, remember if you want to be used by God, make sure you see things the way God sees. Make sure His heart beat is yours. Remember who you are in God too! Your holy identity! See yourself as God sees you and I believe we will see God rise up many great men and women for His service. I dare you to pray to God “use me”

Scripture/Quote of The Day

... If any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple (Luke 14:33)
